Paddle Canada Level 1 Sea Kayak Skills $230 May 29–30 or Aug. 21-22
Learn to kayak and develop your paddling, navigation/rescue skills beyond the basics on this 2-day weekend getaway kayak course. Offered at the White Squall Paddling Centre.
Prerequisites:
- "Basic Rescue" & "Fine Tuning" or completion of Paddle Canada Flatwater Sea Kayaking or equivalent
- able to perform all fundamental strokes, braces, and rescues in moderate conditions (waves less than 0.2 metre)

Paddle Canada Level 2 Sea Kayak Skills $460 May 7-10 or July 23-26 or Aug. 27–30
A beginning intermediate award in all aspects of sea kayak proficiency in an intensive 4-day course. This kayak training course is offered at the White Squall waterfront centre and includes a trip on Georgian Bay.
Prerequisites:
- Paddle Canada Level 1 certification or equivalent experience.
- Intermediate Skills – able to perform all fundamental strokes, braces, and rescues to a high degree of proficiency in waves up to 1 metre
- Experience – at least 3, one-day kayaking trips in different locations

- Paddle Canada Level 1 skills or equivalent experience (Able to perform all fundamental strokes, braces and rescues in moderate conditions – waves less than 0.2 metre.)
- Basic First Aid/CPR
- It is strongly recommended that all instructors have some qualification in Wilderness First Aid and Swimming.

A perfect certification for those wanting to instruct and guide in sea kayaks on the Great Lakes, on this 4-day plus one evening course on Georgian Bay.
Prerequisites:
- 18 yrs of age
- Level 2 Paddle Canada skills or equivalent to be assessed by course director. (This means being able to perform fundamental strokes, braces, and rescues in 1 metre waves.)
- Basic First Aid/CPR (we recommend Wilderness First Aid)
- current Paddle Canada membership (candidates must apply in advance for PC membership if not already a member)
- 30 days in level 1 paddling conditions including overnights

- Wildernesss First Aid (2 day), CPR
- Level 3 or 4 Sea Kayak Skills
- Paddle Canada instructor membership
- Significant paddling experience in a wide variety of conditions and locations
- Trip leadership & instructional experience
- Working knowledge of hypothermia
- Swimming and life saving skills strongly recommended
