Early Fall Hoot and Blat
Hi Everyone

Kevin Callan and Scott Adams visited the Squall last week, shooting video about Parry Sound, paddling, chickens and general goofing around. You can see the result at: Kevin Callan's Blog or below:

One day, I'll tell the real story about the kayak heads and why the boys complained that their hats stunk....for now it will be our little secret.

On to other fun stuff - Georgian Bay is at it's prime for swimming and the crowds have gone home. Kathy, Benji and I just came back from being out there, and you could swim for hours in the crystal clear water. It's a magical time to get out and paddle - we still have openings in our clinics and daytrips for the next two weekends - also for our almost famous Bayside Inn Getaway on Sept. 26/27.

There is also a very special Central Canadian Paddling Symposium coming up on Sept. 26/27 at the Madawaska Kanu Centre. There is something for everyone whether you're a sea kayaker, canoeist or whitewater dude. Graham and I will be there, along with instructors from both coasts and from all over Ontario. Becky Mason and Mike Pardy are featured speakers - a fine paddling weekend and we hope you can come. Info: (paddlingcanada.com)

Can't forget to tell you about the second annual Georgian Bay Storm Gathering. This is coming up Oct. 16-19 and is about the best thing you could do to end off the paddling season. A joint project with the Squall and PaddlingInstructor.com, we have instructors from all over Ontario to help lead wild and wonderful sessions out on the Bay - returning to the warm hot tub and cabins of Snug Haven Resort. Think of it as a folk festival for sea kayakers. (georgianbaystormgathering.com)

Boats on Sale
New and used boats and gear are currently on sale. Jack is back from Atlin and has been running around digging up used stuff to sell off. Let us know if you are interested in anything specific. Our inventory is always under review as boats get a bit more scratched, so best to call for up to date pricing or can view online here.
