Sweetwater Senior Youth Expedition |
Sweetwater Senior Youth Expedition - Aug 4-14 co-ed 15-18
The Idea We invite you to apply for this exciting co-ed youth expedition on Georgian Bay. Participants will be chosen based on ability and willingness to paddle and camp hard. You'll take on guided leadership challenges through an extended journey along Georgian Bay's northeast coast. National certification in paddling skill is available to successful candidates through Paddle Canada.
The Details Arrive on the evening of Day 1 for orientation and an on-water skills review. Next day you will take part in a Trip Preparation Seminar to guide you through packing gear, food and equipment according to our multi-day trip systems check. You'll review White Squall risk management protocols including registering float plans, preparing detailed route planning and safe travel policies.
For the next ten days we're on the Bay! We'll travel north from Snug Harbour heading to Little Current on the North Channel (you need to get picked up there at trip's end). In between could be the trip of your life – you'll get out what you put in. Our goal is to provide constant opportunities to develop as a paddler and leader. We'll have a fun and fine time as well!
Pre-Requisites
- 15-18 years of age
- Successfully completion of White Squall's "Youth Quest" programme or:
- Equivalent sea kayak experience (contact us for details)
- A demonstrated ability to work hard as a team member with a smile

Cost $895. Includes all meals, equipment, boats, guiding and certification. Pick up at Little Current is required for all trippers Please note – this rate is only possible due to the willingness of senior squall guides to lead the trip for a reduced rate. In turn, we are providing all boats, logistics and equipment at a reduction and we're all excited to offer this leadership and tripping opportunity.
